CEMinnesotaOrlando, Florida (June 13, 2016) – edgefactory helped the Mall of America get a little more colorful this past month. Crayola, the crayon-maker which opened its third hands-on attraction in the shopping center that attracts 40 million visitors a year, cut the ribbon for a Crayola Experience in its 60,000-square-foot space inside the Bloomington, Minnesota mall. The attraction has two components: the family attraction featuring 25 hands-on activities influenced by Crayola products and technologies, and the Crayola Store, which has the world’s largest selection of Crayola items and souvenirs.  Edgefactory produced a collection of original, animated media menu and price boards for the attraction’s food and merchandise outlets.

“Crayola Experience is an immersive, larger-than-life, creative adventure that we can’t wait to share with both locals and tourists,” Crayola CEO Smith Holland said in a news release. “This is America’s heartland, and our brand has been at the heart of American creativity for 113 years. We hope to inspire countless kids and help create colorful family memories that will last a lifetime.”

The opening highlights a period of growth for the company’s popular Crayola Experience, an attraction designed to encourage creativity and technology while showing customers that Crayola is not just a maker of back-to-school supplies anymore. The company now has more than 1,500 proprietary products and technologies.

In addition to the original Crayola Experience in Easton, Pennsylvania, the company opened its second attraction last summer in the Florida Mall in Orlando, Florida.

A fourth Crayola Experience is in the works. The company confirmed late last month that it’s in negotiations with the Liberty Center in Liberty Township, between Dayton and Cincinnati, Ohio, to bring a Crayola Experience to its lifestyle center.
