Energy, emotion, and edge were at the forefront of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) 2016 International Business & Leadership Conference. Held from August 23-26, 2016 in Palm Springs, CA, the conference featured over 1,000 entrepreneurs, corporate decision-makers, affiliate chamber leaders, and government officials from across the country and around the world.
edgefactory was right there with them, supporting the enormous event by providing our signature style of creative content and media integration to bring the stage to life.
Event Devoted To Advancing LGBT Businesses
This three-day educational conference gave LGBT-owned and allied businesses a chance to shine. The show opened with an opening video created by edgefactory, and we also contributed visual and audio effects that influenced the atmosphere of the entire show. New connections were made and old business ties strengthened as more than 140 corporations, federal government agencies, and businesses made contact with one another.
Conference highlights included:
- Matchmaker sessions. This annual event facilitates meetings between certified LGBT business enterprises and procurement teams from a vast array of national and multinational corporations looking to diversify their supply chains
- Biz Pitch Competition. This annual luncheon event features LGBT Business Enterprises giving their pitches to venture capitalists in front of a room full of their peers. At the end of the day, one business wins investment capital to grow their ideas.
- LGBT Biz talks. New this year was LGBT Biz Talks, a TED style talks from LGBT innovators designed to help small businesses think bigger and learn new ideas for strategic growth.
Powerpoint presentations made by edgefactory enhanced each session attended by business representatives.
Emotions Ran High When Etheridge Performed Pulse
The undeniable highlight of the conference was an emotional keynote presentation and performance by Melissa Etheridge. The presentation’s atmosphere was designed by edgefactory, and featured an interview and performance with the internationally-known music legend and lesbian. Etheridge started out by talking candidly about her own experiences coming out in the music industry. After performing some of her greatest hits, she touched upon the emotions of the crowd by performing her new tribute fundraising song, Pulse. Pulse is dedicated to Orlando and the victims of the mass shooting that took place there in 2016. edgefactory produced the impactful video on display during Ethridge’s performance.
We had a great time working this event and look forward to witnessing the growth of these businesses and ideas in the near future!
