This week edgefactory is celebrating a convergence of multiple project styles with long-time client, Thermo Scientific at the trade show Pittcon 2013 in Philadelphia, PA.  The examples below showcase video interview capture, same-day editing, enhancing and uploading to social media channels, in-booth digital signage design and installation, and content creation and deployment.


1x3 Video Wall - Samsung ME55A 55” screens

Showcased here is a 1×3 video wall utilizing Samsung ME55A 55” screens.  Interesting to note – these are mounted to a FABRIC wall – quite a challenge to overcome.  edgefactory designed, developed and deployed the content specific to this 3-screen format, effectively incorporating the bezel width into the graphic design. Also supplied was the content deployed to over a dozen other screens throughout the Thermo Scientific 50’x60’ booth.

Charlie Chromeleon

Meet Charlie Chromeleon – the icon character developed for Thermo Scientific chromatography software.  edgefactory built the rebranding of Charlie around stunning 3D animation, visual effects incorporation, a life-size walk-around character and stuffed plush, a molded USB Drive case, and an innovative social media presence. The new look and personality for Charlie was launched in conjunction with the trade show.


Thermo Scientific YouTube Channel


edgefactory designed, maintains and populates the Thermo Scientific YouTube channel, as well as their own video network – thermoscientific.tv.  While regularly posting new content throughout the year, during trade shows and conferences such as Pittcon edgefactory captures expert interviews, client testimonials and product showcases, incorporate pre-designed and client approved motion graphics, and uploads finished segments DURING the show, creating a “hybrid” show for attendees and non-attendees alike.

Thermo Scientific Interview segmentTake a look at this video in particular, as it shows not only the multi-camera editing and motion graphics created for the show, but also highlights the 1×3 video wall, with Charlie making an appearance.  Posted just hours after being captured, this video, along with well over a dozen others, was available for show attendees and non-attendees in almost real-time, part of the edgefactory “Engage” package.


edgefactory greatly appreciates the ongoing and growing relationship with Thermo Scientific, as well as two other Thermo Fisher Scientific divisions, Fisher Scientific and Unity Lab Serivces.  Other past works have included conference meeting opener videos, training programs, product releases and Public Relations segments.  In addition, edgefactory is working with Thermo Scientific and other partners in developing email campaign strategies, digital signage content and lobby atmospheres, as well as numerous other ongoing video projects.
