Shelbyville, Indiana, (September 3, 2015) Creating magic is something edgefactory does every day, but when Keven Leonard, of edgefactory and co-owner of the Leonard Brothers Band, saw an opportunity to make a real wish come true, he didn’t hesitate.
Both organizations, in partnership with the Make-A-Wish® Foundation, helped bring a dream to life for one very special young man. Nigel, age 19, of Shelbyville, Indiana, was granted his special wish by the Make-A-Wish® Foundation, to become a real music producer. Keven Leonard, along with a number of colleagues in the professional music and production business were only too happy to help.
While Nigel was away from his home, a group of several volunteers re-enacted a fully-functional music studio in Nigel’s bedroom, titled Nigel’s Studio. This musical space included a collection of instruments, live musicians, and a fully functional control booth style-mixing console.
Tens of thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters advance the Make-A-Wish® vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition. In the United States and its territories, on average, a wish is granted every 37 minutes. A single wish experience can be a game-changer and change the life of a deserving child and their family.
“It was a very rewarding experience; a nice combination of what we do at edgefactory and my musical background” said Leonard. “Everyone likes some form of music. To be able to give Nigel the tools to make his own music, there was an emotional connection with creating something new, and he can be proud of that.”
